What is urea super granules?

When urea molecule comes in contact with soil, it undergoes hydrolysis in presence of urease (secreted from soil microbes) to form ammonium carbonate.

When urea molecule comes in contact with soil, it undergoes hydrolysis in presence of urease (secreted from soil microbes) to form ammonium carbonate. This ammonium carbonate undergoes further hydrolysis to form ammonium and finally ammonia (when not uptaken by plants), which undergoes volatilization. Urea super granules having lower surface area and less contact with soil undergo hydrolysis at a slower rate and prevents volatilization loss.
